Hi friends, are you a web developer? Yes, i’m a web developer too. We know how to use developer tool to inspect elements but we need to know which server file contain those elements too. If we find where it is we can change it. So we need a software to search file content. If you use Linux, grep command is enough. Use cd command to go to the directory contain the file you want to search, then use this command
grep -rl "string to search" *
Example i want to change logo of my website so i use inspector to see html of my logo. This case i will search for opening tag because the img tag inside may be generated dynamically by WordPress so i dont include it in search string.
I type grep command in putty and it shows the path to result file portal/header.php
You may also want to read 1 click login with Putty
I usually use Winrar to search file content of files inside zip, rar archive
winrar find tool
SearchMyFiles is alternative to ‘Search For Files And Folders’ module of Windows by nirsoft. It is free but works accurately. Enter path of the folder to Base Folders field, Select “File Contains” and “Text” then type the word you want to search and click “Start Search”. The result will show on popup windows.
I suggest you go to option menu and check open file on double-click, it will open the file in default program
open file on double-click
Or right click the file to see the menu
